Monica

Monica is a personal CRM for remembering the people in your life. Nobody is a lead here. You record what's going on with friends, family, colleagues and neighbours, and Monica reminds you when to get back in touch.

It's built for people who want a private place for their relationships, without a social network attached. There's no feed, no followers, no advertising, and no friend recommendations.

• Relationships: map families, partners, friendships and coworkers, and how they connect to each other.
• Notes and journal: keep what people told you in one place instead of across messaging apps.
• Reminders: birthdays, follow-ups and promises, so you don't have to hold them in your head.
• Activities: a history of meals, calls, trips and events.
• Custom information: store the details you care about, not fields a sales tool expects.
• Import and export: bring contacts in from vCard or CSV, with duplicates shown before anything merges, and export your data in full at any time.

Monica has been open source since 2017. You can run it on your own server at no cost, or pay for the hosted version, which handles updates and backups and funds the project. Hosted data is never sold, used for ads, or used to train a model.

Version 3 is a ground-up rebuild with records you design yourself, links to pets, companies, homes and projects, a journal tied to people and dates, a full API, and an MCP server so you can connect your own AI assistant to your own data.
