mutonby/openshortsPaste a YouTube link or upload a podcast, webinar, stream or interview, and the AI picks the 3 to 15 moments worth posting. Each one gets reframed to 9:16 around the speakers, captioned, and given a hook. It's built for creators, podcasters, social media managers and agencies who repurpose long-form video. A tool like OpusClip does similar work, but this one is open source under the MIT license.
It also includes a YouTube toolkit for thumbnails, titles and descriptions, and an AI UGC generator with lip-synced actors from $0.65 per video.
You can use the hosted version, which includes a free plan and paid plans from $12 a month. Or self-host it with Docker, so videos stay on your own machine. Self-hosters supply their own Gemini key, which has a free tier.
