Gloomberb is a finance research terminal that runs on desktop (Mac and Windows), in the browser, and over SSH in a TUI. Your account and layouts sync across all three, so you can switch between them without reconfiguring anything. It's built for investors and traders who want a single place to research equities, options, macro data, and crypto without paying for a Bloomberg Terminal.

The interface is shortcut-driven. Each command pulls up a specific view:

  • GP / GIP Long-range price charts and intraday candles
  • OMON / OPX Options chain, open interest, max pain, and gamma exposure
  • PORT Portfolio risk, factor betas, and stress testing
  • SPLC Supplier, customer, and partner maps for any listed company
  • WIRP Fed rate path implied by futures
  • COT Commitments of Traders positioning
  • CG House and Senate disclosure filings
  • BTMM Funding rates, T-bills, and liquidity metrics
  • BT Backtest an indicator rule against buy-and-hold
  • CRYP Top coins by market cap
  • GPU GPU rental rates and asks

The Pro tier adds earnings call transcripts, hiring data across listed companies, cross-search over calls, news, and filings, real-time quotes, and a live news wire. Implied vol surfaces, IV rank, and multi-leg options payoff diagrams are also Pro features.

It's MIT licensed with around 2,400 GitHub stars, and supports plugins so you can extend it beyond the built-in commands. Compared to tools like OpenBB or Fincept Terminal, Gloomberb leans harder into a polished desktop experience while keeping the terminal option for server-side or SSH workflows. Portfolio tracking is built in via the PF command, with live P&L on positions.

The free tier covers a wide range of financial data views. Pro runs $70/month after a free trial.
