opentypelessOpenTypeless is a voice input app for Windows, macOS and Linux. Press a global hotkey, speak, and the text appears wherever your cursor is. It's built for people who write a lot of email, chat, documents or code notes and want to talk instead of type. If you're comparing it with paid tools like Typeless or Superwhisper, it's free and MIT licensed.
AI polishing is optional. When it's on, it fixes grammar, punctuation and filler words, and can shape the result to the app you're in. The same spoken update becomes a formal Gmail reply, a short Slack message or a terse note in Cursor. App matching happens locally, and unknown apps fall back to a general style.
Privacy depends on your setup. A custom Whisper-compatible endpoint covers self-hosted transcription, and Ollama runs polishing locally. No account is required.
