Visual database design tool for developers who want to model a schema on a canvas and get working SQL migrations out of it. It's built for teams who'd rather not hand-write every change as the project grows.

You draw tables and relations in an interactive ER diagram, or import an existing SQL schema and see it turned into a diagram. From there, each change becomes a versioned migration. Frontend developers who find backend work intimidating get a clear picture of how tables connect.

  • Interactive ERD: edit tables, columns and relations directly on the diagram.
  • Import from SQL: convert existing schemas into editable diagrams.
  • AI assistant: generate a schema or improve one you already have.
  • Schema diffs: detect changes across your schema automatically.
  • Incremental migrations: generate SQL for each change instead of rewriting everything.
  • Safe rollbacks: get a rollback script for every migration.
  • Version history: keep a record of how the schema evolved.

It supports PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, SQLite, Oracle and SQL Server, so one workflow covers most stacks.

StackRender comes in two editions. The cloud version runs in the browser with no installation. The community edition is free, open source and self-hosted, which suits teams that want control over their infrastructure and data. If you've looked at drawDB or dbdiagram.io, the main difference here is the migration and history tracking built around the diagram.
