VisiGrid

A local-first spreadsheet for people who want to check their numbers, not just produce them. It opens Excel and ODS files, runs as a small desktop app, and works offline with no account. A browser version is also available.

The main idea is that an AI agent's work should be visible and reversible. Connect a compatible agent through the built-in MCP server and its edits show up live in the grid. You can inspect the cells, correct them, and undo each batch. Revision checks stop an agent from overwriting changes you made after its last read.

• Formula tracing: click any cell to see its formula, value, inputs, and downstream dependents.
• Verification: a fingerprint hash of inputs and formulas lets you confirm a model hasn't changed, in audits or CI.
• Excel compatibility: opens XLSX, XLS, XLSB, ODS, CSV and TSV, with an import report listing unsupported functions.
• Keyboard-first: a command palette, multi-cell selection, named ranges, and formula hints as you type.
• Lua functions: sandboxed custom functions replace macros, with no VBA.
• CLI: run calculations, diffs, and format conversions from the terminal.

It's built for analysts, finance teams, and developers who treat spreadsheets as part of a larger system. The desktop app has no telemetry. Themes and shortcuts are plain text files you can back up or share.
